Mallorca just got a proper club again. FITZ opened 16 July 2026 in the Palma waterfront building that once hosted Frank Sinatra as Tito’s, later struggled as a luxury cabaret relaunch, and has now been handed back to DJs. Grupo Sounds (Madrid, Marbella) is running a 1,300-capacity room with floor-to-ceiling windows over Palma Bay and an Audiotechnik system.
The opening was a 12-hour session — 6:30pm to 6am — with PAWSA, Nic Fanciulli, and Miguelle & Tons. That booking is a statement. FITZ launched a House of Artists residency programme for the rest of summer 2026 instead of treating the island as a one-off superstar stop. Residency culture is how rooms get an identity. One-night fly-ins are how they become Instagram backdrops.
We care about this because independent dance music needs rooms that still believe in a season. When a 1,300-cap space on the Paseo Marítimo chooses house and techno over dinner theatre, it is a vote for the dancefloor. The same logic applies in smaller cities: find the room, install the system, book people who can actually play.
If you are on the island this summer, go for the music, not the view. And if you are packing USB sticks, take some Rhythm Label with you — XL for peak time, RickyP for the rolling stretch. New clubs only stay good if DJs turn up with records that belong on a loud system.
